Handlebar Fitment Guide

Check fitment before ordering

Use this guide to gather the information needed to specify your handlebars. Model-by-model compatibility requires confirmation before ordering. A product name, a fit-type label, or the words “Universal Fit” do not confirm compatibility with your motorcycle.

1. Diameter: measure the clamp and control areas

Confirm the receiver diameter of your risers and the handlebar diameter at the clamping area. Also confirm the diameter required by your grips and controls. Do not assume that the main tube diameter is the same as the clamp or control diameter.

The Keystone and Elemental product descriptions list custom rise, pullback, grip drop angle, upper total width, and a 1¼–2½ inch diameter range. Those descriptions do not establish the clamp or control-area diameter, or the specifications of other models. Confirm these dimensions for your chosen product.

2. Controls: dimpled or smooth, cable or electronic throttle

Record whether your motorcycle uses cable throttle or throttle-by-wire, and whether you will retain its existing switch housings, grips and controls. Confirm whether your proposed bar requires dimples, holes, slots or another provision for those components.

Dimpled and smooth bars must not be treated as interchangeable without checking the controls and wiring arrangement. Throttle-by-wire compatibility also requires confirmation for the exact bar and motorcycle. Do not infer it from the model name or year alone.

3. Cables, hoses and wiring

Record your current and proposed bar rise, width and pullback, together with riser height. Ask your installer to assess throttle and clutch cables where fitted, brake and clutch hoses, and electrical wiring for the proposed position.

Confirm whether routing will be internal or external and whether the selected bar has the required routing provisions. Do not assume existing lengths will work or apply a fixed extension threshold. The installation must allow steering movement without tension, trapping or interference, subject to your motorcycle's service instructions.

4. Risers: keep or replace?

Compare the bar's confirmed clamp-area dimensions with your existing riser's receiver diameter, clamp arrangement and mounting requirements. Confirm clearance and the proposed riding position with your installer.

A riser change may be needed, but is not assumed. Do not order replacement risers based only on the bar's main tube diameter. Confirm the compatible combination of bar, risers, mounting hardware and motorcycle before ordering.

How to read our product attributes

Our existing product attributes include Fit type, Vehicle type, Manufacturer type, Material and Item material. Use the values shown for the individual product as descriptive information, not as a model-specific fitment certificate.

Fit-type values such as Custom, Cruisers and Touring describe categories, not confirmed year-and-model compatibility. Vehicle type does not establish fitment. Manufacturer-type labels do not by themselves establish OEM compatibility or approval. Material labels do not establish clamp size, control compatibility or installation requirements. Where several values appear, confirm which applies to your chosen specification.

Model-specific and “Universal Fit” products

Some product titles refer to Road Glide or Street Glide, and one Bagger Range Glock product is titled “Universal Fit”. Exact model-year compatibility, controls, dimensions and riser requirements still require confirmation. This guide does not extend those titles into a promise that a bar fits every motorcycle.
